List of Places To Visit In Hubli

Siddharoodha Math

(ಶ್ರೀ ಸಿದ್ಧಾರೂಢ ಸ್ವಾಮೀಜಿ ಮಠ ಹುಬ್ಬಳ್ಳಿ) Shree Siddharoodha Swami Math in Hubli is a revered spiritual center dedicated to the 19th-century saint, Siddharoodha Swami, known for his teachings on equality and devotion.

Shree Siddharoodha Swami

Located in the heart of Hubli, the math serves as a beacon of spiritual enlightenment and attracts devotees from all over the region. The ashram serves free food to all devotees from 12 PM onwards every day, embodying the saint’s commitment to service and community.

In the 1980s and up till the 90s, visitors to the Siddharoodha Math would often visit the small lake within the premises to feed the fish with puffed rice (churmuri), a simple but cherished ritual. Unfortunately, the lake has not been well-maintained, and the fish feeding has since ceased.

Daily Prasad Timings

Here are the daily Prasad timings for Shree Siddharoodha Swami Math:

Morning: 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM

Afternoon: 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM

Night: 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM

Laddu Prasad is available for ₹15/-.

This math has the potential to be transformed into a world-famous site, but such a transformation would require vision and interest from the concerned authorities, something that is currently lacking.

This math is one of the most prominent tourist places in Hubli. It’s so significant that Hubli Railway Station has been renamed in honor of Shree Siddharoodha Swami.

One of the best Places to visit in Hubli - Unkal lake
Unkal Lake, Hubli

The beautiful and pristine Unkal Lake is a 200-acre water spot in Hubli.

This place attracts visitors from near and far with its statue of Swami Vivekananda, which stands at one end as an iconic landmark for those who visit this area to enjoy their time by whichever means they choose—whether it be exploring nature or just relaxing on the shores while taking advantage these facilities available here such as boating trips!

The tranquil surroundings of Unkal Lake are perfect for a picnic with friends or family. Spend some time here and you’ll feel refreshed and invigorated.

Unkal Lake is also a great place to spend an afternoon if you’re looking for a little peace and quiet. There’s nothing better than taking your favourite book to the park and reading while enjoying the fresh air!

If you’re looking for a place to take your date, Unkal Lake is definitely worth considering. It’s romantic, serene, and perfect for a quiet afternoon together.

However, I recommend you carry your own snacks as the food options here are not the best!

Chandramouleshwara Temple

This temple is located in the heart of Hubli and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has beautiful architecture and is a major tourist attraction in Hubli.

A 900-year-old temple, the Chandramouleshwara Temple is a must-see for any history buffs and architecture enthusiasts.

It is said that the temple has a natural underground stream that flows through it, and the water is considered to be holy.

This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sadly the temple is not promoted as much as it should be and is often overlooked by tourists.

Make sure to add Chandramouleshwara Temple to your list of places to visit in Hubli!

Ah, Nrupatunga Betta—fondly mispronounced as “Ruttumm Betta” during our childhood days! It was only much later that I learned the correct pronunciation: Nru-Pa-Tunga Betta.

Nrupatunga Betta, view of city from the top

The hill has seen a lot of changes over the years, and while it’s beautiful in its current form, I can’t help but miss the old Nrupatunga Betta. Back then, we would walk to the top, and the entire hill was open on all sides, offering a breathtaking 360-degree view of Hubli city. No walls, just wide-open spaces all the way to the top.

I also remember a small grocery shop at the summit where Maggi was a popular treat—if I’m not mistaken, that shop is still around today.

Nrupatunga Betta is nestled right within the city, making it an easily accessible spot for everyone. It’s a peaceful place, perfect for jogging or just taking the steps up for some exercise. It’s also a favorite family picnic spot and a haven for photography enthusiasts.

Undoubtedly, Nrupatunga Betta remains one of the most popular tourist places in Hubli and is a must-visit when you’re in the city.
