However, the first significant commercial complex to grab attention in recent times was Eureka Towers, located near the iconic Rani Chennamma Circle (popularly known as Traffic Island Circle). What made Eureka Towers stand out was its unique, ship-like architectural design, which quickly caught the eye of the public.
This landmark also found fame in cinema history. The famous Kannada song “Huttidare Kannada Nadalli Huttabeku“ featuring the legendary Dr. Rajkumar was shot at Rani Chennamma Circle, with Eureka Towers proudly in the background. This film was shot around 1991-1992 and released in 1993, marking Eureka Towers as a prominent commercial space of that era. Now, about 35 years old, it remains one of the most recognized and popular commercial complexes of its time in Hubli.
As of 2024, Hubli is now steadily evolving as a hub for shopping and entertainment. With modern shopping malls offering a blend of retail, food, and entertainment, these spaces have become hotspots for both locals and visitors. I have shortlisted the most prominent malls in Hubli, starting with Urban Oasis Mall and the upcoming Inorbit Mall, which are sure to offer a complete shopping experience.

Inorbit Mall is one of the most anticipated developments in Hubli. With its opening just around the corner, it’s expected to offer a new level of luxury shopping and entertainment. The mall promises to house a variety of top global and Indian brands, and it’s located close to Urban Oasis Mall, giving shoppers more options in the Gokul Road area and a cut-throat competition to Urban Oasis Mall.

What to Expect Next
Once Inorbit Mall is operational, Hubli will have two major shopping destinations in close proximity, potentially transforming the shopping experience in the city. Urban Oasis Mall will need to focus on improving cleanliness, upgrading facilities, and better management to maintain its competitive edge, especially as more modern malls come into the scene.
3. U Mall Hubli
U Mall in Hubli, located near Apsara Theatre on coin road (opp to Shoppers Shop), is a compact shopping destination for the locals. While not as grand as Urban Oasis or Inorbit, it caters to the city’s basic shopping needs with stores like Malabar, Zudio, Reliance Trends, and Max Fashion. Despite being an accessible shopping destination, many visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the parking, food court, and general upkeep of the mall.
